The XBee 3 BLU device offers a configurable setting, BP (Bluetooth Power), which allows you to control the transmit power used for Bluetooth advertisement messages. Adjusting this setting can help optimize energy consumption depending on your application’s needs. Lowering the transmit power reduces energy usage but may also shorten the Bluetooth advertisement range. The available power levels of the BP (Bluetooth Power) setting are:

  • -20 dBm

  • -10 dBm

  • 0 dBm

  • 8 dBm (default)

By selecting a lower transmit power (e.g., -20 dBm or -10 dBm), you can save energy, especially in applications where Bluetooth advertisement range is less critical. Conversely, higher power settings (0 dBm or 8 dBm) provide a stronger signal but at the cost of increased power consumption.
