1. Ensure that the license information on the dongle has not expired, by contacting the appropriate dongle/software vendor.
2. Ensure the USB license dongle itself is functional, by connecting it directly to a physical computer (not to an AnywhereUSB Plus). Next, install the proper dongle driver and confirm that the dongle is installed properly by looking in Windows Device Manager. Finally, if you have any software to test the dongle with, run that software to ensure the dongle is working properly. If the dongle does not work here, it will likely not work with an AnywhereUSB Plus.
3. Ensure that another USB device works on the same USB port of the AnywhereUSB, such as a USB keyboard or mouse.
4. Ensure that you are running the most current AnywhereUSB Plus driver/software package (Re-install the “AnywhereUSB Manager”, change ClientID to resolve ClientID errors.) and the hub itself is running the latest firmware versions.
5. Ensure that you are running the most current dongle driver version.
6. Have the hub set to a static IP or DHCP server reserved IP and proceed to disable “Autofind hubs” in the Managers Preferences. Next, add the hubs IP to the Known Hubs list under Configure within the Manager.
7. If you are launching the protected software through a RDP session, console directly into the computer instead and run the software that way.
8. Attempt to disable power saving for the USB device in question from its properties within Windows Device Manager.
9. Attempt connection from a PC directly connected to the ETH1 port on the AnywhereUSB Plus hub while the network interface on the PC is set within the 192.168.210.X subnet. The Hub should be accessible at 192.168.210.1 which is the “Default IP” interface for use as a backup/setup (If it is left enabled).
If the issue is yet unresolved obtain for Digi technical support:
1. A Support Report from the AnywhereUSB Plus WebUI (Latest view):
System [Drop down menu] -> Support Report -> Small download button in upper right
2. A Support File from the Manager:
Help -> Create Support File
(If this is not present, such as in the Linux Manager, provide the output of Help -> System Messages as well as look for ~/.AnywhereUSB/awusb.log*)
3. A screenshot of the Windows Device Manager section with the USB device present (If possible).
