The status LED deals primarily how the device boots up successfully or not. It has a secondary purpose of providing more information if a problem occurred and why it failed. Status LED will typically only flash during bootup. It will be a sequence of flashes (the number) followed by a pause, with more flashes, followed by another pause followed by a 3rd set of flashes. These are called blink codes. For example here are common blink codes: --- 1-1-1 bootloader passed successfully, starting bootup --- 1-5-1 device successfully in factory default mode --- 9-1-1 unknown failure.
