The easiest method for upgrading the firmware is by using the HTTP method from the Web configuration.
It is very important to confirm the POST image version is current prior to updating the firmware image!
The current POST and firmware versions can be located from the root prompt of the unit. SSH or telnet to the Digi unit, login as root and issue the following command from the prompt:
#> show version
To log off the unit, type exit.
Next, download the appropriate POST and/or firmware image(s) from the Digi web site to a system on the network. You may be required to obtain the 50 million part number from the sticker located underneath the Digi unit to ensure the proper images are obtained.
From your web browser, type in the IP address of your Digi unit. Login as root.
On the left Administraction menu section, select Firmware Upgrade. If applicable, select the appropriate update option in the "Update" field (POST or Firmware). Next, click Browse and locate the downloaded image. Click Submit.
A reboot will be required for each image update.
