options not supported on plug and play firmware

Digi products often have a simple plug and play firmware loaded onto them.  While Digi tries to build products with many different kinds of capabilities, there are cases in which all functionality can't be implimented.  In these cases it is recommended that the customer see if a programmatic version of the product is possible.  

For example:
The Digi Connect ME has plug and play firmware.

If a desired feature is not on that product, then one could then switch over to the programmable ME module using the NETOS development kit.  The user then could write a custom firmware image with the features they need.
