How to Obtain a Support Report from a DAL Device

Support Reports are used by Digi's Technical Support specialists to help troubleshoot issues with DAL devices.

If the device is not connected to Digi Remote Manager there are a couple of ways to obtain a Support Report from your device by using:
  1. Web UI
  2. CLI Commands

Obtaining a Support Report involves three basic steps:
  1. Login into the device
  2. Create the report
  3. Download the report to a computer from where it can be sent to Digi Technical Support

Obtaining a Support Report using the Web UI (HTTPS)

  • Access the Web UI of the device -- (Please see the section "Logging into the local Web UI" of the User Guide for your device).
  • Navigate to System > Administration > Support Report.  For device running firmware 19.11 or prior, navigate to System > Administration > Logs > Support Report (scroll all the way down on the page to see the section).
  • Click at the download icon on the right-hand side.
  • This will download the file directly to your computer.

Obtaining a Support Report using CLI Commands (SSH)

  • Log in to the device via SSH using its default IP address 192.168.210.1
  • On the Access Selection Menu,  Select 'a: Admin CLI'
  • Type the following CLI command:
	system support-report /tmp
  • The report will be saved to the /tmp folder, and the name of the file will be something similar to:
    digi-support-0027043FCE7D-20.03.09-14.06.12.bin
  • After the Support Report is generated, use an SFTP client (like FileZilla) to connect to the device from your PC, navigate to the /tmp directory of the device and transfer the file to your computer.
