HOW TO: Control the RTS Signal Activity in Unix/Linux

Linux, AIX, Solaris (and all other Unix flavors) will always assert RTS on open.  There is no way to change or configure it to be different.

However, if RTS/CTS flow control is NOT set on the port, you would be allowed to come in after open() and raise/lower the RTS signal as seen fit.

Half duplex is not supported in any *nix O.S., however we do support "RTS Toggle" for AIX and Linux in the current drivers(ditty rtstoggle).  RTS Toggle will automatically turn on RTS when data is being sent out TX, and will turn off instantly when data stops being sent.
