The short answer to this question is, it depends on the model of the AnywhereUSB®, specifically if the model supports the Multi-Host Connections (MHC) feature or not.
The following AnywhereUSB models do NOT have the MHC feature:
- Legacy AnywhereUSB/5 (P/N 301-1130-01)
- AnywhereUSB/5 G2 (P/N AW-USB-5)
- AnywhereUSB/2 (P/N AW-USB-2)
- AnywhereUSB TS44 (P/N AW-TS-44)
The above "non-MHC" models are capable of connecting to only one host computer at a time, giving that one computer exclusive access to all of the AnywhereUSB's USB ports, and attached USB devices. It's not possible for more than one host computer to connect to the above AnywhereUSB models simultaneously. If any of the attached USB devices need to be used by other computers, they would need to "take turns" connecting to the AnywhereUSB, meaning any currently-connected computer would need to first disconnect before any other computer could connect.
The following AnywhereUSB models DO have the MHC feature:
- AnywhereUSB/14 (P/N AW-USB-14)
- AnywhereUSB/5M (P/N AW-USB-5M)
- AnywhereUSB 2 Plus (P/N AW02-G300)
- AnywhereUSB 8 Plus (P/N AW08-G300)
- AnywhereUSB 24 Plus (P/N AW24-G300)
The above "MHC" models allow multiple host computers to connect to different USB ports of the same AnywhereUSB at the same time.
