Can a 3G sim card be used in a TransPort LTE model and connect properly to the Cellular carrier

Any 3G sim card should be able to be used in the TransPort LTE (Muli Carrier) models and get a mobile ip address from the Cellular carrier.   This will only allow a 3G connection on the LTE model.
 
Troubleshooting steps if this does not work properly:
 
 

1. Ensure the 3G sim card is seated properly
2. Ensure the 3G sim has an active data plan
3. Try the 3G sim in a different device to ensure working properly
4. Verify the TransPort has the latest firmware installed
