ERT/Smart Energy Bridge

Important

The ERT products are end-of-life (EOL) and are no longer in production. Digi will continue to make ERT-related documentation available for existing customers.

Digi International’s ERT/SE Bridge allows remote reading of ERT-enabled Meters through an Internet connection in combination with compatible Smart Energy gateway products. When paired with Digi International’s ConnectPort X2e for Smart Energy metering data is automatically retrieved from up to 10 configured meters and accessible from anywhere in the world through the Device Cloud servers. Integration with the ConnectPort X2e for Smart Energy brings full support for Digi X-Grid Smart Energy services.

The ERT/Ethernet Bridge initially operates as a ZigBee Smart Energy Range Extender. When configured to receive data from nearby ERT meters the bridge will dynamically create Metering Device endpoints to present received consumption data on the ZigBee Smart Energy network. Consumption data available on these Metering Device endpoints can be accessed by other Smart Energy devices on the network.

As a Range Extender the ERT/Ethernet Bridge supports the following clusters.
Input:
  • 0x0000 - Basic
  • 0x0003 - Identify
  • 0x0800 - Key Establishment
  • 0xFE5E - Digi ERT Configuration
Output:
  • 0x000A - Time
  • 0x0800 - Key Establishment
The bridge also supports the following clusters on additional Metering Device endpoints when configured to read from an ERT meter(s).
Input:
  • 0x0000 - Basic
  • 0x0003 - Identify
  • 0x0702 - Simple Metering
Output:
  • No Clusters
