Create a configuration profile
You can create a configuration profile from two different places within XCTU. You can either create a profile based on the configuration of an XBee device or create a profile from scratch.
Create a profile based on the configuration of an XBee device
The first way to create a profile is to create a representative model upon which to base the configuration profile and then save the profile. To do this, you need to have a radio module added in XCTU.
Note You only need to configure the values; it is not necessary to write the settings to the module.
To do so follow these steps:
- Switch to Configuration working mode .
- Select a radio module from the device list.
- Configure the radio module with your desired values.
-
Click the Configuration profile's drop-down menu on the Configuration toolbar and select Create configuration profile.
- Create profile wizard displays.
Create a new profile from scratch
It is also possible to create a new profile without any pre-configured firmware or settings. To create a new profile from scratch:
- Launch the Profile editor tool by selecting Profile Editor from the Tools drop-down menu on the main toolbar.
- Click the Create button from the toolbar. The Create profile wizard displays.
In either case, the Create profile wizard displays. Follow the steps provided there to create the configuration profile.
