Digi Holiday Fun and Fundraising: Over $6k Raised for Charity

The 2019 holiday season was a fun time for Digi employees. Worldwide, staff members celebrated with ugly sweater contests and other festivities. At Digi International headquarters, festive decorations, elves and gnomes began appearing around the office early in December, along with a Christmas tree and a challenge for employees to provide inspired decorations.

When a few days went by and only one ornament appeared on the tree, one of the executive team members posed a challenge to everyone at HQ.

"Team, our tree looks like an accountant at a party," wrote Digi CFO, Jamie Loch. "It's sad and lonely! To inspire decorating our tree, I would like to offer a challenge: For every ornament registered, I will donate $5 to a charity that collectively we will choose."

Soon, other executive team members jumped on the challenge with matching offers. And in the days that followed, the Christmas tree quickly filled with decorations. At the holiday celebration at Digi headquarters, Digi President and CEO Ron Konezny announced the total amount raised for charities: $6,320! The team chose to support the following charities:

There were several other charitable initiatives as well, including a food drive by our Wireless Design Services team for People Reaching Out to People, and the Digi Human Resources team's annual Adopt-a-Family project, benefitting Avivo.
