Last week, the Digi team exhibited inside the Internet of Things (IoT) Infrastructure Pavilion at the Consumer Electronic Show (CES) among the most innovative thinkers, technology companies, celebrity ambassadors, and the world's largest business leaders for consumer technology. The launch of the IoT Infrastructure Pavilion encompassed the IoT ecosystem in its entirety and provided a collaborative space for innovative companies and products that are powering todays IoT world. With over 4,000 exhibitors, 200,000 attendees, and 1,000 speakers on its global stage of innovation there was a lot of conversation around smart cities, digital health, device security, and wearable technology.
A highlight during the show was having the creators of the Ilesovi Antitheft Purse (formerly Colette) join us and share their high-security handbag that was featured in the "Best of CES 2018" article in the Wall Street Journal during the conference week. Watch the video below to see how the cross-body bag originally came to life to during the 2017 IoTFuse hackday event.
Connecting your smart city infrastructure with confidence means adding intelligent IoT connectivity to your communications network to attain system-wide monitoring, control, and management of remote critical assets. The city wide results will be increased worker productivity, improved energy efficiency, and enhanced public safety. Long-term budget goals will be more tangible, reducing maintenance and operating costs as well. Several use-cases we had on display include:
- Traffic Management
- Security and Surveillance
- Public Transit
- Water Treatment
- Intelligent Lighting
Connecting like your health depends on it can be done by adding intelligent wireless connectivity to medical devices. Manufacturers can achieve goals such as real-time patient monitoring and integration with hospital systems, while accelerating time-to-market and ensuring longer-term product availability. Some real-life applications of wireless connectivity in the medical industry include:
- Pharmacies
- Emergency Monitoring
- Bedside Monitoring
- Smart Infusion Pumps
