Task one: Generate a Cisco Umbrella API token
- Log into the Cisco Umbrella Dashboard (https://dashboard.umbrella.com).
- On the menu, select Admin > API Keys.
The
API Keys page displays.
- Click U (Create).
- Select Legacy Network Devices.
- Click Create.
- Copy the token.
7. Next, edit a Global Allow List and fill it with the domain’s names.Destination lists allow for the customization of filtering by creating a list of domains that are explicitly allowed.
In cases where you wish to allow access to a small subset of domains and block all other domains, please do not forget to enable "
Allow-only mode," which blocks access to all destinations except those specifically allowed.
Task two: Configure web filtering
Log into local Web UI as a user with full Admin access rights.
- Access the device Web UI configuration:
- Click Firewall > Web filtering service.
- Click Enable web filtering to enable.
- For Web filtering service, select Cisco Umbrella.
- Paste the API token that was generated in Task one: Generate a Cisco Umbrella API token.
- Click Apply to save the configuration and apply the change.
