Digi is committed to our Cultural Imperative of Embracing Inclusion & Diversity. In addition, we emphasize supporting communities and continually fostering our unique and special Digi culture. For over thirty years, Digi has hosted a golf event fundraiser, giving our team, partners and vendors the opportunity to have some fun while doing great things for great causes. It is up to every individual and to us as an organization to create positive change, and it all starts with awareness, openness and action.

Fundraising Results

Wormburner fundraiser recipients

The annual Digi Wormburner day of golfing and fundraising takes place at the Crystal Lake Golf Course in Lakeville, Minnesota. The event is organized by a fantastic group of Digi team members who dedicate themselves to putting on an entertaining and enjoyable day. Every aspect of the event encourages participation and giving — from team registration to prize drawings to purchased mulligans.

These combined efforts helped to secure a total dollar amount for the fundraiser at a record breaking $60,000 to be distributed between our three selected local organizations.

This final fundraising tally, which includes the pre-event fundraising and all of the activities across the course on the day of the event, dramatically increased the total donation for the three recipient organizations beyond the amount on the symbolic checks they were presented at the event.

Meet the 2023 Wormburner Fundraiser Recipients

Each year the Digi Wormburner and Inclusion & Diversity Committees select extraordinary organizations focused on driving equity and opportunity for youth and families nationally. We look forward to expanding our fundraising efforts even more to reach internationally in the future. Here are our three recipients.

Making Fundraising Fun

Wormburner volunteersTo pull off this fundraising event requires the generous donations of many different organizations as well a wide range of activities. The organizers put their heads together to create contests and fundraising opportunities leading up to the event as well as on the day of the golf outing.

Here are a few of the activities designed to create excitement while increasing the proceeds for our selected charitable organizations:

  • Putting green contest
  • A hole-in-one contest contest to win $30,000, and another to win a charcoal smoker
  • “On the green” contest where you take your best drive off the tee and if you land on the green you win a sleeve of Titleist Pro-V1 balls
  • “Closest to the pin” contest with cash prizes
  • Longest drive
  • Longest putt
  • Raffles and more

A Huge Thank-You to Our Volunteers

A successful event requires a dedicated team that works behind the scenes to make the magic happen — from organizing, fundraising, creating graphics and managing communications, to handling all of the details on the day of the event. Each year our volunteers give their passion, time and effort to deliver a successful and one-of-a-kind event, and this year was no exception. Digi's volunteer team did an amazing job — thank you for all that you’ve done!

We extend our heartfelt thank you to our extended Digi team, as well as our external sales and distribution partners and suppliers, who sponsor the event at various levels, and can even sponsor a specific hole on the green with some special visibility and recognition.
